All technologists working in any setting performing stereotactic breast biopsy must be currently qualified under MQSA and meet the minimum criteria in the table below. The ACR recommends that technologists be certified and actively registered in the modality they perform.

Upon renewal, 24 stereotactic breast biopsy exams in the prior 24 months (if a radiologic technologist has not maintained his/her continuing experience, he/she can requalify by performing 5 hands-on stereotactic breast biopsy procedures under a qualified physician or technologist) |
