Revision History

Accreditation in gynecological ultrasound requires two complete female pelvis exams from two different patients. At least one exam of the two must include a transvaginal study.

DO NOT submit a female pelvic study with an intrauterine device (IUD).

For transvaginal submissions, all requirements must be imaged transvaginally. Only transvaginal images will be reviewed.

Transabdominal and transvaginal exams from 1 patient are considered 1 complete female pelvis exam, and both exams should be submitted as one.

Complete documentation/survey means a series of several images throughout the entire organ in two planes. For example, from one side of the organ to the other in the longitudinal plane and from superior to inferior in the transverse plane.
