Accreditation in gynecological ultrasound requires two complete transvaginal pelvis exams from two different patients. All requirements must be met with transvaginal imaging and only transvaginal images will be reviewed.
Dedicated children's facilities are required to submit two complete transabdominal pelvis exams from two different patients. All requirements must be met with transabdominal imaging and only transabdominal images will be reviewed.
DO NOT submit a female pelvic study with an intrauterine device (IUD).
Complete documentation/survey means a series of several images throughout the entire organ in two planes. For example, from one side of the organ to the other in the longitudinal plane and from superior to inferior in the transverse plane.
